In a recent interview which the pretty Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson granted, her fears about marriage was the hot topic for the day. Yvonne discussed the influence that growing up in a single-parent household has had on her approach to marriage and starting a family. Opening up about her childhood, the ‘Heels & Sneakers’ star admitted that her fatherless development is something that scares her in making moves towards marriage.
“As a kid growing up, it disturbed me not having a father figure around. I don’t want my child to go through the same thing,” she said.
Leading up to her 30th birthday, Ms Nelson revealed that she expected to have a baby by the time she celebrated three decades of life. But despite the pressures, Yvonne is adamantly cautious.
“I just don’t want to rush into something and then in eight months or in a year, I’m divorced and everyone is talking about it… I want to get it right,” she said. The problem, she says, is not a lack of suitors, but rather a lack of certainty as to whether or not suitors are the right fit.
“It’s not like women like [me] don’t have men approach us. But you’d ask yourself, ‘is this the right person?”
