I'm 23, not 40- Victor Emenanyo insists after being banned for lying about age | Shows Nigerian passport (Photos) - cocosista15.com

Nigerian footballer, Victor Emenayo has had to defend himself after his club accused him of being at least 17 years older than his actual age.

Azerbaijan side Shahdagh Qusar FK thought they had signed 23-year-old Victor Emenayo this summer but after playing his debut, the club have accused him of lying and holding a fake passport.

Victor Emenayo claims he hasn’t lied about his age and is 23-years-old. His club believe his passport may be fake.

Despite his passport claiming he was born in 1993, the club believe they have been duped and that he is at least 40-years-old – possibly older. But Emenayo has slammed the suggestions saying he is not a cheat.

Speaking to website New Fanzone Blog, he said: “How can anybody claim or ascertain that I am not 23-years-old merely by my looks.

Some news outlets claim that Emenayo may suffer from Lorde Disease – an illness that makes people look older than they actually are. But Emenayo made no mention of this in his interview.

It is not the first time Nigerian footballers have been accused of lying about their age. Last month a staggering 26 Under-17 players failed an age test ahead of their African Nations’ Cup qualifier.

Ooni Of Ife Says ''God Truly Exists,I’m A Living Example Of What He Can Do - cocosista15.com

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on Tuesday averred that the Almighty God is the Alpha and Omega, stressing that he is a living example of what God can do as his ascendance to the throne is nobody’s making.

It would be recalled that Ooni had recently been criticized by some Yoruba elders for kneeling down to pray to God. But in a swift reaction, the monarch said he committed no crime by the act, saying, “no King on Earth is above God.God is the creator of mankind and it is God that makes it possible for the enthronement of any king.”

DAILY POST reports that the Monarch was speaking at an event in Abuja. He said: “Anyone who says there is no God bring that person to me as I am a living example of what God can do. He is the Alpha and Omega. Those who are saying there is no God definitely need to encounter God. Ascending this throne, rising to this height was not my making, nobody’s making.”
While encouraging youths in the country that they can achieve whatever they set their mind on, he said: “I see my position today as a message to the youths. That whatever you focus your minds on, can be achieved. Where there is a will there is a way. My ascendance to the throne should motivate the youths to takeover leadership.”

The Ooni further harped on the need for Nigerian leaders to lead by example by patronizing and using goods made in the country, stressing that the country will become great when those in positions of authority start doing so.
His words, “Our leaders must lead by example. The day Nigerian leaders start to wear Nigerian shoes; the day Nigerian leaders start to wear Nigerian attires; the day Nigerian leaders start to use materials made in Nigeria for the construction of buildings, from federal to states to local level.

“Even if it is not perfect let us stop condemning things that we have. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Let us encourage local producers, local manufacturers, small scale industrialists and the only way we can encourage them is by we ourselves patronizing them.”
Highlighting how good products gotten from the country are, the Ooni said: “The gold I’m wearing I know where it came from in the ground. They brought gold for me from Paris and the United Arab Emirate. They called it millions of Naira. I said why should I buy it. We have gold in Nigeria but they said nobody is exploring gold. My kingdom has one of the largest gold deposits in Nigeria. I took the gold and discovered it is a belt that runs all the way to Sokoto.

“No company in this country has done that exploration. It is still underground lying there yet we are suffering as a nation. Nigeria has the most purified gold in the world. I am very proud to say I am putting on Nigerian gold. My bid: they go all the way to Benin to look for it. We are passing through challenges as a nation but what are we doing individually to make this country a great nation?”
The Ooni who further said that oil exploration in the country was a distraction questioned why the nation abandoned the export of cocoa, Kola nut, and palm oil. He said Nigeria had retrogressed in terms of diversification and the sooner the country realize that, the better. He charged the youths to remain focus by not making money the focus of their dreams. He said dream should depend on one’s passion to thrive.

Sound Of Music Star Charmian Carr Dies At 73- cocosista15.com

Charmian, who played Liesl Von Trapp, has passed away following a battle with dementia, reports say.

The official Twitter page for The Sound of Music confirmed the news as it paid tribute.
20th Century Fox tweeted: "She will be forever missed."

The actress was best known for playing the eldest Von Trapp daughter in the Academy Award-winning 1965 film.

Kym Karath, who played youngest Von Trapp Gretl, said: "It is with infinite sadness that I share the tragic news that the precious and exquisite Charmian Carr, beautiful Liesl , has passed away."

Ted Chapin, president of the Rogers and Hammerstein organisation, said in a statement: "It's always sad when a member of the family passes away and in the case of the 'family' of the movie 'The Sound of Music,' it's especially sad when it is the first of the group to go.

"Charmian Carr played the oldest von Trapp child, and in some ways she maintained that role in real life guiding, cheering, supporting and generally being there for the rest of her 'sisters' and 'brothers.' "

Charmian - who was 21 when she starred in the film - became known for singing one its most famous songs, 'I Am Sixteen Going On Seventeen'.
The actress's spokesman confirmed she died on Saturday in Los Angeles, of complications from a rare form of dementia.

She was a college student when she auditioned for the film, which also starred Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
Carr fully embraced audiences' reverence for the musical, frequently appearing at fan events commemorating the film, including sing-a-long performances at the Hollywood Bowl.

In 2005 she said: "I tell people that they should consider sing-a-long 'Sound Of Music' like going to a therapist.
"It's just a kind of therapy. They can move around. They can dance and talk back to the screen. They can skip their appointment with the shrink that week."
Carr went on to become an interior designer in Southern California. Her clients included Michael Jackson and "Sound of Music" screenwriter Ernest Lehman.
‎Carr later wrote a pair of books about her experiences, Forever Liesl and Letters To Liesl.

The actress went on to star with Anthony Perkins in the Stephen Sondheim television musical Evening Primrose.
Actor and director Seth MacFarlane wrote: "So very saddened to hear of the death of Charmian Carr. She leaves behind one of the most memorable performances in movie history."

Carr was born in Chicago on Dec 27, 1942, and moved to California when she was 13.
She is survived by two children and four grandchildren.
She is also survived by the six other actors who became part of cinematic history when they were cast as the von Trapp children.

Karath, who played Gretl said in an interview last year to commemorate the film's 50th anniversary: "
"We're second family. As adults, we were deeply bonded, so our lives have really interwoven with each other."

Mourinho Blames Refereeing Decisions, Defensive Mistakes For Loss To Watford

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has said their 3-1 defeat to Watford, was due to mistakes by the referee and poor defending.
The Red Devils fell to a third consecutive defeat on Sunday at Vicarage Road.

Etienne Capoue opened scoring in the first half, before Marcus Rashford equalized after the break. But further goals from Juan Camilo Zuniga and Troy Deeney, ensured United left with nothing.
Mourinho claims the first goal should not have been allowed to stand.
“I can split this into three factors – one is the referee’s crucial mistakes, it’s not in my control,” he said.
“I can’t do anything, I can’t change that, it’s not under my control, but against Man City you know what happened in the 55th minute.
“Today, you know what happened in the first goal, so we were punished by these mistakes but I can’t do anything.”Mourinho, however, accepted that the second goal was his own players fault.
“The third thing is what is in my hands, improvement of the team and the individuals. I tried to stop the defensive mistakes, and I knew that I had a task,” he added.

“Their second goal is a mistake. It’s a mistake that goes against our plan and against our training because our intention was for the wing-backs to be pressed and not let them progress.
“But what happens is that their guy gets the ball 25 metres away from our box and we gave him the space. This is a tactical but also a mental attitude. It’s something that doesn’t become perfect in a couple of weeks. So we have to improve, no doubt, individually and collectively. And that’s my job.”

The loss to Watford, is United’s third in eight days, after they were beaten in the Manchester Derby last Saturday (and in the Europa League by Feyenoord on Thursday .
It is also the first time Mourinho is losing three times in a row as a manager since August 2006.

“I feel that some individuals probably feel the pressure and responsibility too much,” he said.
“But from a collective point of view, I only have good things to say about them. At 1-1 everyone thinks we are going to win the game. We were showing complete control, intensity, creation.
“We started the season very well with (winning) the Community Shield and three victories in a row in the Premier League, the best start that a new manager has had at Manchester United I think. But was I thinking that my team was ready, perfect, unbeatable? Not at all.
“I was completely aware that we were not perfect, with lots of players who are not end products and can make their own mistakes.”
