Paul Okoye of P-Square decided to spill the beans as he exposed the first gift he used to win the heart of his wife, Anita, when they first started dating many years ago at the University of Abuja. Interestingly he revealed he and his wife fought over an ice cream!
Ironically, it was the same incident that got him attracted to her, and the rest today they say is history.
He enthused that while wooing Anita, he made several efforts to no avail but caught her interest when he bought her some movies acted by her favourite actress Genevieve Nnaji; that was on a valentine day.
“We were like best friends, more like partners in crime"
At some point,Paul says Anita was acting like P-Square manager back then in school when they used to do some small shows. She is intelligent and has the zeal to make ideas happen. "In those days, her father was initially skeptical when he saw me on dreads and earring", Paul remembers fondly.
“He didn’t say anything but I saw that in his body language. But he is my best friend now. We are both Chelsea fans, and whenever we lose, he would call me to discuss the match,” he added.
Paul and Anita officially tied the nuptial knot about two years ago at Aztech Arcum Events Centre in Port Harcourt.
The star-studded event was well attended, the then Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi and actors Majid Michael, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, and Aki & Pawpaw among others were present.
The marriage is already blessed with a son, Andre, and the couple seems to be growing from strength to strength.

Rihanna covers up in a camo coat as she keeps a low profile .
RiRi's escapade in Paris has forced her to keep a low profile. After being seen kissing Leonardo Caprio, she decided to keep a low profile by covering up so as not to be noticed by other holiday makers as she arrived at the city's Charles De Gaulle airport on Saturday.
The saucy singer looked different from her usual raunchy image, covering up in a chunky camouflage coat complete with hood up.
There was no doubt that the star would be comfy on her early morning flight, wearing a while top, black Puma jogging bottoms and black UGG-style boots.
She carried a black bag over her left shoulder, presumably for her to take on the plane as hand luggage.
Rihanna was flanked by her strapping entourage, who chivalrously carried her luggage for her.
The singer's appearance at the airport stirred up interest from surrounding holidaymakers who peered to see which celebrity was in their midst.
And despite being fully covered, Rihanna's glossy brunette tresses and plump peach lips suggested that she had applied make-up for the trip.
On Sunday night, pictures appeared showing the Umbrella singer kissing The Revenant actor in a nightclub.
However, the images have yet to be published after the Golden Globe-winning actor used French privacy law to stop them being made public.
A photo agency offered the pictures, taken at the French nightclub L'Arc, to a number of publications in Britain.

"Will Smith is straight" - says his ex -wife.
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have refused to comment about claims made by Alexis Arquette that the two are gay, but the transgender actress is getting a mouthful about her allegations from one unlikely source - Will's ex-wife.

Sheree also shames Alexis for the 'damage' her story could have caused to their family, including her son with Will, 23-year-old Trey; and Will and Jada's two children, 17-year-old Jaden and 15-year-old Willow.

Kim Kardashian says she will pay to get her marble slaps.
Kim and her mom have locked horns many a time, but their latest row is one of their more ridiculous ones to date.
In a preview for Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the 35-year-old says she will give her mother $1million if she can find 10 slabs of calacatta gold marble.
According to Kim, Kris 'stole' the specially-imported marble from her, and Kim didn't hesitate to tell Kris she would be charging her for it.In the clip kim moans to the camera: 'When we moved in with my mom the first time, we bought a whole ton of marble – all these slabs from out of the country, and she took my marble, has never mentioned it, has never paid for it, and now I have to figure out a new plan.'
She is then shown telling her mother that she 'had to change Kanye's whole bathroom', and Kris is unsurprisingly not overly sympathetic about her plight.
Kris insists that she only took six slabs of the marble, but Kim says she has received the invoice and knows it was 10.
marble, which she had imported from Italy
Shocked, the 60-year-old replies: 'You're charging me for the marble?'
Kim, who at the time was heavily pregnant with her second child Saint, immediately fired back: 'Absolutely.'
She explains: 'They don't have that same marble. They only have calacatta. They do not have calacatta gold in stock, or I'm going to have to wait.'
While the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star whines about how difficult it was to have the pricey marble shipped over from Italy, Kris is convinced it can't be impossible to get hold of.
She asks her daughter how much she would pay her if she finds 10 slabs of the calacatta gold marble in the United States, and Kim says she'll fork over 'a million dollars'.
The pair then shake on it, and the momager - who thinks the 'whole situation is ridiculous' says: 'If I have to rip it out of that bathroom, I will find you 10 slabs.'
Interestingly, this is not the first time Kim has run into marble-related problems, and it's unlikely it will be the last.
According to Page Six, the mother-of-two and her husband Kanye had Italian stonemasons carve guests' names into the marble tabletops for their Florence wedding in 2014.
However the idea didn't exactly go to plan, as the publication reported that many names were spelled wrong and few people sat in their assigned seats.
What's more, the couple commissioned 30 nude statues to be carved out of black marble for the occasion, but 20 were broken and unusable, and of the 10 that did get put out, six were headless.
Page Six also alleged that Kanye grabbed a saw and cut the bar in two an hour before the ceremony began, and that the bathrooms were situated inside a huge gold box.
The couple appear to be a fan of golden toilets, as in 2013 they splashed $750,000 on four gold-plated ones for their home.
Meanwhile, another preview clip for Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians showed Kris saying she wanted the family to meet with a communications expert - and Kourtney's college friend.
I was to set up a meeting with this
communications professional to go over always being on our phones,' she tells Kim and Khloe. 'You're never not on your phone.'
Kris adds to the camera: 'I'm so sick and tired of them not listening and having Khloe telling me to cancel events. As her manager, it's not professional.'
However, her children don't take her seriously at all. Kim says: 'That's the dumbest thing [I've] ever heard in my life.'
And Khloe adds: 'I'm always the one who tells you, "Put your phone down. We're at dinner."'
Celine Dion leads second day of mourning her husband's funeral.
Celine Dion led hundreds of mourners in an emotional final farewell to her late husband René Angélil on Friday.
The heartbroken singer elegantly dressed in a black full-sleeve dress and a long black veil managed to maintain her composure for the touching ceremony remembering the showbiz manager at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Old Montreal.
She was joined by her three children. Older son René Charles, 14, escorted his elderly grandmother Thérèse, 88, into the service, while Celine walked in gripping the hands of her twin five-year-old sons Nelson and Eddy,
A huge number of well-wishers also gathered for the 'national funeral' service - filling the aisles of the church and the area outside.
A national funeral is the closest a non-politician can get to a state funeral in Canada and is in-part paid for by the government. The couple are so popular in the province and the country at large that Angélil and his grieving wife were offered the highest honor.
Also in attendance was Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire-Trudeau, and federal Heritage Minister Mélanie Jol.
The service was broadcast on giant screens outside the Basilica - the church where the couple was married in December 1994 - and flags across Quebec will remain at half-mast throughout the day.
Dion entered the service surrounded by family and placed a rose touchingly on the casket while being comforted by her eldest child. There also appeared to be a small pillow holding the couple's wedding bands.
Angélil's adult son Patrick paid tribute to him with a eulogy in French and was followed by René Charles.
'He never missed a chance to tell us he loved us. Now, more than ever, we realize how exceptional it was to have a father who never hesitated to say those so precious words,' The Toronto Star translated.
Then his younger stepbrother took to the podium with a supporting look from his superstar mother.
'Fifteen years is not a long time to get to know your father. He had a busy life but we were getting to know each other through golf, poker, smoked meat and other wonderful food. Bonding more and more as time went by.'
'You left me now with enough good memories of you to share with my younger brothers. As they grow older without you being around, I'll make sure to pass on what I've learned from you. You are a tough act to follow but with our help everything is going to be fine. Dad, I promise you here that we're all going to live up to your standards. Je t’aime Papa.'
Angélil died of throat cancer at the age of 73 on January 14, Celine, 46, was almost 26 years his junior.
The couple met when she was just 12-years-old when he became her manager - with Angélil mortgaging his home to help her make her first record.
They had a secret affair that began seven years later but they didn't go public for another five in fear of criticism over their age gap.
They were married in a lavish wedding broadcast on Canadian TV in December 1994. At first her mother wouldn't approve of the couple but eventually came to accept him as her son-in-law while Celine referred to him as 'the only boyfriend I ever had'.
From early Friday morning, mourners gathered to pay their respects at the Gothic Revival church in the heart of Montreal.
Many in attendance were fans of Dion's who wanted to show their support and locals in the region where the couple are almost seen as royalty.
'We really don't know them on a personal basis, but from knowing them for all these years ... you see them and you follow them all your life and it feels like it's your family," Jimena Valdez, a fan of Dion's music visiting from Mexico, told Reuters.
'So this is a difficult time for them and you want to be here for them ... in good times and bad times, like family.'
Dion arrived so the funeral could begin at 3.20pm - opening with Dion's version of Trois Heures Vingt
The service was overseen by the archbishop of Montreal Christian Lépine and Ibrahim M. Ibrahim, epoch of the Greek Melkite Catholic Church in Canada was expected to join with Rev. Miguel Castellanos to lead mass.
The funeral came after an emotional memorial service for Angelil on Thursday. Dion was pictured clasping to her son for support as she paid respects at the open casket and stood for seven hours thanking well-wishers.
The star told People magazine that she was thankful to those who have kept her family in their thoughts at this tragic time: 'The support we've received has been such a blessing.'
Dion also paid homage to the man she credited for making her career and being the love of her life in the memorial service's program.
'I understood that my career was in a way his masterpiece, his song, his symphony. The idea of leaving it unfinished would have hurt him terribly. I realized that if he ever left us, I would have to continue without him, for him', she wrote.
Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre, told the Montreal Gazette Angélil was 'an ambassador for the city, an ambassador for culture'
'He’s part of what Montreal is all about,' Coderre said. 'He’s a guy who never forgot his roots. He was there to promote his city … and he represented diversity with his Syrian origins.'
People magazine shed some light on the state of her mind this week: 'Her heart is in pieces,' a source told the publication. 'There are no words. She's in extreme grief right now. She's extremely heartbroken. But she's putting on a brave face.'
In the last year 'the singer rarely left her husband's side as he used a feeding tube. He had both good and bad days,' a source said. 'Some days he could get up and walk around the room, play with the kids. Some days he was too tired.'
Céline's stylist and longtime friend Annie Horth said: 'René was generous enough to prepare all of this since the last few months with Céline.'
Because of this, Céline is 'going through [this] peacefully and with control,' added Horth.
A second adult son and daughter from his first marriage, Jean-Pierre and Anne-Marie Angelil, were also at the funeral and memorial service.
Dion did not perform but her music was incorporated into the service at her late husband's request. Celine followed the casket out of the church to a standing ovation as her hit record 'Pour que tu m’aimes encore' was played.
Celine also paid musical tribute to her husband during her Vegas residency earlier this month.
With René's frail image on a large screen behind her, the star sang First Time I Ever I Ever Saw Your Face.
A grief-stricken Dion also lost her brother to cancer just two days after the death of her husband.
Her Vegas performances have now been canceled until the end of February.
The Dion family will attend the funeral of her brother Daniel on Tuesday.
Onyinye O: The Kim to Your Kanye? Hell No, baby!
A Lilian Esoro Lilian Ubi Franklin). Anyway, back to Clinic Matters! So in that episode, a female patient was asking the nurses if they could give her something that would make her fat and the nurses wondered why. Eventually, this patientopened up: my boyfriend has been cheating on me. I’ve caught him with 5 different girls and all of them were fat. I don’t want to lose my man so I think it’s only right for me to get fat. He obviously likes that.
couple of weeks ago, I was watching the famous Nigerian sitcom – Clinic Matters (PS, if you’ve never watched it before, I wonder how else you know
couple of weeks ago, I was watching the famous Nigerian sitcom – Clinic Matters (PS, if you’ve never watched it before, I wonder how else you know
Still in that episode, the sister to one of the nurses (while waiting for her sister to finish attending to a patient) began to run her mouth as to how she would be rebranding soon. She’ll add more piercings to her ears, pierce her nose, cut her hair, get a tattoo on her back and purchase ankle chains. When the girl was done talking, Nurse Abigail (Lilian Esoro’s character) who’s very sarcastic asked her if she had intentions to become a rock artiste. The babe replied (shining her 32) that her boyfriend thinks she’ll look much better that way. Imagine!
A colleague of mine would usually say, “these are the issues” – and I couldn’t agree more. You know, it surprises me how you meet someone a certain way, ‘fall’ for them that way. Then you get into a relationship with them that same way, and all of a sudden you try to change the person and make them who they are not, to suit “what you like”. I’m speaking of the obvious- the person’s weight, physical appearance, dress code, “personality”, e.t.c.
It’s okay to want your partner to look or be a certain way especially when YOU feel it enhances the person in one way or another but the question is, to what end? Perfection?
You know, we humans have this thing we do; we shape to taste. So we buy clothes that aren’t our size and “shapen” it to fit. However, it seems to me that we sometimes, apply that same logic to human beings and usually, it really is one of two things: “I like you, but you do not meet my exact requirements so I’ll change you to be that person in my head” OR “I love you too much and I’m just trying to make you better”.
Apparently, the latter scares me even more, because sometimes, you really cannot see the danger you are causing to this person. You might think it’s a means of expression of love. Again, it’s like shaping an already made dress to taste- the fabric sometimes gets destroyed in the process, the style of the dress just might change, the dress might become too tight (and maybe even become unflattering in certain places) or the dress might just lose its originality in the process- the originality that defines the essence of the dress!
So, for example, before you got into the relationship, she was (and well, has always been) the kind of girl that’s not in the business of showing off body parts when she dresses. Yes, probably bits and pieces, but not ultimately borderline ‘skimpy’. Now, you saw that, got in the relationship, and before long you somehow start making side comments about her showing more skin, and from random comments it turns to an obligation, which leads to an issue.
Sometimes, you hear comments like “I’m your man, if you aren’t listening to me and looking good for me, who else are you now doing it for?” The issue is: of course one might be able to make adjustments but aren’t there limits?
So bae is a ‘shortie’ and before you both kickstarted the relationship, you never really complained. Bearing in mind she’s gone past the height growing phase of her life, you start buying 6 inches heels (not even 2 inches for a start) for her, and start imposing it on her. You want her to climb to the top of the world- and she’s one who loves her flat shoes all the way. Why?
One time, a friend of mine came complaining about how his girlfriend came up with a dress code for him, one of which included: stop wearing casuals. She loves it when guys look dapper in suits so she’ll love him to adopt that style. She also mentioned she didn’t like the fact he didn’t have a “corporate” job and advised he looked for one instead of pursuing (in her words) “this photography thing”. She said she really wanted these changes so she could show him off more. Really?
Ask me and I’ll say that’s just wrong. At the end of the day, it really is about acceptance and toleration isn’t it? And please don’t get me wrong. I’m all for adjusting where necessary but not totally changing. I would say that if you needed to change at all, you should be convinced about it. If that relationship ended, would you be proud of those changes made or would you revert back to your “default setting”?
If he knew you to be the “I don’t joke with food- I don’t wanna have ulcer” kinda girl and all of a sudden, he’s making statements about you eating too much and how uncool he thinks it is. He even takes it a step further and begins to pass comments about your weight (when you haven’t really changed since you both started dating) and the pressure is on for you to “trim down” quickly. (Na magic? Na so pesin just dey change?) If you both went your separate ways, would you keep “trimming down”? Would you feel confident in your own skin even if you don’t continue with the trend?
You know, Janelle Monae isn’t Kim Kardashian and Kim Kardashian isn’t Janelle Monae. Their selling points are totally different. In as much as you might admire Kim Kardashian, how she speaks, dresses, walks and even reacts, she is who she is: Kim Kardashian. Try to make Janelle Monae be Kim and she just might become so insignificant because she’ll get drowned in trying to be someone else. She is and can only be the best Janelle Monae cause that is who she really is! She might pick bits and pieces from Kim that really enhance her as a person but truth be told, they are 2 different people. For what it’s worth, Kim just might be an admirer of Janelle Monae but she’s thinking “I can’t pull it off the way she does”.
Anyway, this was just me thinking out loud and I might be wrong so I’ll end by asking, do you think it is right to “shape” your partner

Ricky Gervais offers advice to Chris Rock as Oscars host come under pressure amid Academy Awards boycott.
Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais has offered some advice to Oscars host Chris Rock, who is under pressure amid a boycott over the nominees' lack of diversity.
'If I were @chrisrock, I wouldn't be considering boycotting the Oscars,' the controversial British comedian wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.
'I'd be thinking 'this s*** is live. I can do some serious damage.'
The Office star took no prisoners as he hosted the Golden Globes on January 10, hilariously skewering everyone from Mel Gibson, Ben Affleck, Caitlyn Jenner and Angelina Jolie.
Ricky's advice comes after director Spike Lee and actor Jada Pinkett Smith announced they would be boycotting the Academy Awards in protest over the academy's lack of diversity.
No African-American artists were nominated in any of the acting or the directing categories this year, with Creed, Straight Outta Compton and Beast of No Nation among the notable snubs.
The only minority projects nominated - What Happened, Miss Simone? for documentary and Straight Outta Compton for screenplay - have all white nominees.
The controversy has put host Chris, who previously hosted the Oscars in 2005, in a tough spot, as he is also under pressure to step down in protest.
Although the Brooklyn-raised comedian hasn't commented on Ricky's advice, Chris did make a crack about the Academy's lack of diversity, tweeting: 'The #Oscars. The White BET Awards.'
On Monday, honorary Oscar winner Spike and actor Jada have both announced they were boycotting the awards next month.
The 58-year-old Do The Right Thing filmmaker explained his decision in a lengthy Facebook post hashtagged #OscarsSoWhite on Monday, which was the Martin Luther King, Jr holiday in the US.
'Dr. King said, 'There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but he must take it because conscience tells him it's right,'' the Chi-Raq director wrote, quoting the heroic civil rights leader.
'How is it possible for the 2nd consecutive year all 20 contenders under the actor category are white? And let's not even get into the other branches. 40 white actors in 2 years and no flava at all. We can't act?! WTF!!'
And while Spike said he was grateful for his honorary Oscar and meant no disrespect to Chris or the organizers, he announced he would be boycotting the event.
Actor Jada Pinkett Smith, who is married to actor Will Smith, also announced her Oscars boycott on Facebook on Monday, explaining, 'We must stand in our power.'
'Begging for acknowledgement or even asking [to be nominated] diminishes dignity. It diminishes power and we are a dignified people and we are powerful. And let's not forget it,' she said.
'So let's let the Academy do them with all grace and love and let's do us differently,' said Jada.
The head of the Academy on Monday said she was 'heartbroken' by the lack of diversity.
'This is a difficult but important conversation, and it's time for big changes,' said president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Cheryl Boone Isaacs, who is African-American.
Isaacs said that while it was important to acknowledge the work of the actors nominated for the awards being given out on February 28, she was 'both heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion.'
'The Academy is taking dramatic steps to alter the makeup of our membership,' she said.
'In the coming days and weeks we will conduct a review of our membership recruitment in order to bring about much-needed diversity in our 2016 class and beyond.'
Richard Akuson: Tinie Tempah Reinforces Western Perception of Africa on Instagram.
I was just minding my business (well, not exactly) when I started going through someone’s Instagram page. The person had pictures of herself and Nigerian international act Tinie Tempah. It was then I realized that he was in Abuja. My Abuja! And I heard no word of it. I quickly ran to his page to see what he was up to while in the city, and to say I was disappointed would be putting it mildly.
Tinie Tempah decided to further prove the West’s African-Jungle-Safari stereotype right with the kinds of pictures he posted, instead of at least showing another side of Nigeria (or Africa as he puts it) that they’ve never seen or heard of.
Tinie Tempah must have travelled out of Abuja’s metropolis to get all the pictures he posted. Maybe to some remote village in Niger state or Nasarawa State. The pictures showed women hawking and carrying things on their heads, while the rest were taken in brown soiled villages with bare footed children playing football. A perfect set up for all those Aid for Africa campaigns. In other shots he had children filed behind him; in another one he was photographed addressing a village council and guess what he captioned it? “I roll with the chiefs back in Africa”
So, my question to Tinie is: Didn’t you see any Instagram worthy thing about Abuja? (besides the two armed police guards you snapped with) Why did you decide to ignore the good things about Nigeria and instead saw the need to reinforce what the West assumes of Nigeria and Africa as a vast land filled with nothing but thatch houses and barefooted hungry children. You could have at least taken a photo of your hotel room so your 600k + followers don’t assume you slept in an open field or in a cave with Lions and Tigers crying at night.
Maybe I find this disturbing because it is coming from a Nigerian. Karrueche Tran was here in Abuja and she not only Instagrammed the orphanage and IDP camps she visited, but also shared images of her partying and posing in front of the Abuja Hilton. She gave her millions of followers a true idea of what life is like down here. A co-existence of the rich, not so rich and the poor – where development and underdevelopment both interface.

That was what I expected of Tinie.
That would have been the one good thing that you’d have done for your “motherland” as you aptly described it on your Instagram.

Rod Stewart given go ahead to build a football pitch at his Essex mansion.
Rod Stewart has been granted permission to build a football pitch at his new £5million mansion, despite the aging rock star's knee injuries stopping him from playing.
Soccer-mad Stewart, 71, wants to build a 3G artificial turf five-a-side pitch at his new home, Durrington House in Harlow, Essex.
The Celtic fan, who has played football throughout his life, was forced to give up the beautiful game in 2014 because of his knees, but still enjoys the odd light kickabout with his youngest sons Alastair, 10, and Aiden, four.
Stewart bought the palatial 10-bedroom 18th century house on the edge of Epping Forest for £4.65million in 2013 but the singer is only now set to move in.
Epping Forest District Council have now approved the five-a-side pitch on the site, which will have a car park with 20 spaces next to it and will be surrounded by fencing and trees.
He had originally wanted to put up floodlights at the 164ft by 101ft pitch to allow matches to take place at night but officials rejected that proposal, saying the lights were not appropriate next to the historic Grade II listed property.
They also ruled that evening matches could be a noise nuisance for Stewart's neighbours.
'The artificial surface is an incongruous addition within the grounds of a mid-18th century house, however, the existing screening provided and hedging trees and the proposal to supplement these with additional native species will minimise views of the pitch and diminish the harm caused to the settings of the buildings,' council officers said in their report.
'There would inevitably be some level of noise emanating from the use of the pitch especially if two teams were to play with family and friends spectating.
'However, without the floodlighting it wouldn't be able to be used late into the evening for much of the year and any noise nuisance can be dealt with under separate environmental health legislation.
'There are no objections in principle. A larger proposal was approved at the previous property that the applicant owned and the difference between the artificial turf and natural grass is not considered unacceptable.'
The football pitch is part of an extensive programme of planned renovations at Durrington House, which also boasts a rose garden, croquet lawn, ornamental pond and guest cottages.
Permission has already been granted for new entrance gates, doors, windows and a breakfast wing at the property.
Stewart already has a full-sized football pitch in the back garden of his current home, Wood House, just a few miles from his new pad.
The Celtic squad once trained at his home when Stewart's pal Gordon Strachan was the manager at Parkhead.
Speaking recently about having to give up playing his favourite sport, Stewart said: 'Towards the end I could only play 35 minutes a game, because I've had knee operations, and it was painful.
'So if I had to do a concert in the evening, in Las Vegas, I'd literally limp onto the stage. Couldn't get out of the dressing room. So, the football had to go. It's been a good innings though.
'Aw man, I miss it so much. The preparation; a good night's sleep on Saturday nights before kick-off Sunday mornings. Getting my kit all ready.'
Stewart, who also has a home in Los Angeles, has a song on his new album Another Country dedicated to his love of the beautiful game, and the Track, We Can Win, features chants from Celtic supporters group The Green Brigade.
