Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has heaped praise of Lionel Messi and believes the Argentinian is football's best ever player.
The pair are currently in Dubai for the Globe Soccer Awards, with La Liga still in it's ten-day winter break and restarting on Wednesday.
And Bartomeu admits that Barca struggled without their talisman when he was out injured, showing how important he is to Luis Enrique.
Speaking at the annual press conference, he said: 'First it was Johan Cruyff, initially as a player and then coach, then Ronaldinho, who made us smile again, and finally Leo Messi.
'For me, [Messi] is the best player, not only in the world but throughout the history of football. We can only live without Leo for a few weeks.
'La Masia not only teaches you how to play football, but it also educates you and teaches you the values of sacrifice, humility and hard work.
'For us, playing good football is as important as our youngsters' education.'
One footballing legend Andrea Pirlo, also spoke highly Messi as the pair posed for a photograph on Instagram.
He said: 'A great meeting with the best ... @leomessi.'
