All roads led to the Barnyard Theatre in
Sunninghill, Sandton; for the annual Women’s month celebration Fashion Meets
Gospel (FMG)
Founded by fashion designer and celebrity
stylist Lindani Ndwandwa four years ago, Fashion Meets Gospel has evolved to
being a household name and has grown from strength to strength. Under the
theme: I am African, the event saw to more than 600 attendees all dressed in
their proudly African regalia.
Amongst the guest celebrities such as
Katlego Danke, Winnie Madosie, Naymaps and Andile Gaelesiwe that graced the FMG
red carpet.
The show had performances by Benjamin Dube,
Ntokozo Mbambo, Mabongi Mabaso, Joe Mettle and many other artists that set
the stage on fire and the audiences basked in every performance. Njabulo Kunene
(former We Will Worship vocalist) left no eye dry in the audience.
Other designers that showcased include
Goodness Mahlangu, Fortunate Khoza, Nwabisa Meth and Freedom Ngamanda, all
showcasing their perspectives on African printed wear.
MC Penny Lebyane did a stellar job as she
kept the crowd entertained and on the edge of their seats.
Lindani Ndwandwa says that he is excited
about the next 5 years and cannot wait to see what lies ahead.
