With her own magazine, her own production studio, and countless projects on her To Do list, it's no big surprise that sometimes, Oprah needs a vacation.
And with a net worth of three billion dollars to play with, the 61-year-old can afford to go big. This week, she's kicking back and relaxing on the beach with her best friend Gayle King, 60 - and a few other pretty famous friends, including Selma actor David Olyelowo and the film's director, Ava DuVernay.
Oprah's partner of 30 years, businessman Stedman Graham, 64, also joined the best friends on their trip, appearing in a fun group shot on Gayle's Instagram on Wednesday morning. In the snap, the whole group can be seen modeling traditional local garb, which appears to be from an exotic locale like Fiji or Tahiti.
Two days ago, the famous friends arrived at their mystery locale - which seems to be in French Polynesia or the South Pacific - and were greeted with yummy cocktails in coconuts and a crowd of singing staff members at their hotel.
The next day, Gayle - who serves as editor-at-large for Oprah's magazine as co-anchor of CBS This Morning - donned her best gymwear to hike in the woods with pal Urania Greene, who is the wife of Oprah's fitness guru, Bob Greene.
Gayle worked up a sweat on the trek, jokingly asking the pair's guide, a man named Dau, to give her a piggy-back ride down. Unfortunately, he wasn't up to the challenge, asking Gayle: 'M'am, how much do you weigh?'
It is possible that Gayle is trying to best her best friend in terms of the number of pounds shed this past year; in October Oprah revealed that she had bought $45 million worth of shares - which amounts to a ten per cent stake - in diet company Weight Watchers.
At the time, the OWN CEO explained that both she and Gayle had been using the diet plan in order to shed some unwanted weight, revealing that she had shed 15 pounds in just six weeks, while Gayle had lost 14 pounds after just over five weeks on the plan.
However Gayle's progress appears to have slowed, with the TV host admitted in an Instagram post last week that she had only dropped half a pound since her last weekly weigh-in - which is perhaps what has prompted her to hit the hiking trails while on holiday.
Later that day, Gayle, her 28-year-old daughter Kirby Bumpus, and Oprah herself got some R&R, lounging on wicker chairs on what seems to be a private deck.
'This is what VACATION looks like in paradise,' Gayle wrote, captioning a photo of Kirby and Oprah. 'Love when favorite daughter & favorite @oprah can chill! [sic]'
From there, the group took to the water - though only Gayle seemed to come prepared with a bathing suit.
Oprah and Ava, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Director for Selma, wore long pants and shirts to wade down the crystal-blue shore.
The two ladies rolled up their wet pants to dry off in the sand, where they sipped cocktails with Gayle, Kirby, and David Olyelowo.
Interestingly, the beach around them and the bar behind them seem to be completely deserted, suggesting that Oprah and company rented out the entire resort for to make their star-studded stay more private.
David also seems to have been the only man on the otherwise all-girls' trip - at least until Gayle's son, William, joined them yesterday after a 36-hour flight from Rwanda.
Oprah's partner Stedman is also on the trip, however he has clearly done his best to stay out of Gayle's Instagram updates, appearing in just one group snap posted by the CBS co-host.
This trip is just the latest in a long line of vacations enjoyed by Gayle and Oprah; the two have traveled together on numerous occasions in the past, including a fun trip this summer, which saw them jet off to Ibiza, where they joined Princess Beatrice on David Geffen's Rising Sun yacht.
They also went kayaking and in the evening headed to a nightclub, where they did tequila shots with Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine.
