Johnny Depp is named Hollywood's most overpaid actor.

The most famous men in Hollywood all seem to have one thing in common - they are very overpaid.
Forbes has released its annual list calculating the amount of money an actor's film earns versus their salary and found that Johnny Depp is the biggest loser, returning just $1.80 at the box office for every $1 he is paid.
He is in good company too, with stars like Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum and Tom Cruise also in the top ten of underperformers.
As for the winners at the box office, they are almost all women.
1. Johnny Depp: $1.20 per $1
2. Denzel Washington: $6.50 per $1
3. Will Ferrell: $6.80 per $1
4. Liam Neeson: $7.80 per $1
5. Will Smith: $8.60 per $1
6. Christian Bale: $9.20 per $1
7. Channing Tatum: $10.80 per $1
8. Brad Pitt: $12.00 per $1
9. Ben Affleck: $12.30 per $1
10. Tom Cruise: $13.60 per $1
Chris Evans is the big winner, returning a whooping $181.80 for every $1 he receives in salary.
This is no doubt thanks to his role in Captain America and The Avengers films.
The next four slots however are all women, with Mila Kunis, Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow and Emma Stone providing returns their male counterparts can apparently only dream of.
Also in the top 10 are Jennifer Lawrence and Evans' fellow Avenger Chris Hemsworth.
Forbes breaks its numbers down by looking at the last three films each actor starred in before June 2015, not including animated films, movies where the actor had a minor role, or movies that were released on fewer than 2,000 screens, which excludes all independent films.
The amount it took to make the film was subtracted from the total box office and that number for each of the actor's last three films was then divided by their salary for those three films.
So even though Neeson had success with the recent Taken 3, his number was decreased drastically due to the poor performance of his films Run All Night and A Walk Among the Tombstones.

HOLLYWOOD'S MOST BANKABLE STARS

1. Chris Evans $181.80 per $1
2. Mila Kunis $87.30 per $1
3. Scarlett Johansson $84.90 per $1
4. Gwyneth Paltrow $82.90 per $1
5. Emma Stone $54.00 per $1
6. Chris Hemsworth $42.10 per $1
7. Vin Diesel $40.30 per $1
8. Jennifer Lawrence $39.10 per $1
9. Mark Wahlberg $37.90 per $1
10. Dwayne Johnson $28.10 per $1
If anything, these numbers provide incredible support for Lawrence's recent open letter about women being underpaid in the industry.
The numbers also prove how important it is to be part of a franchise, as every person in the top ten with the exception of Kunis has at least one franchise film among their past three movies.
Kunis' past three are Ted, Oz: The Great and Powerful and the box-office bomb Jupiter Ascending, which still failed to take down her ranking.
She has recently been taking time off since giving birth to a child with husband Ashton Kutcher.
One superhero who is shockingly not on the list is Robert Downey Jr., though that is likely because Marvel pays him astronomically more than his costars for his work as Iron Man.
As for Depp, he has a sequel Alice in Wonderland due next year, which earned over $1billion at the box office, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, so there is a very good chance he will go right from the bottom to the top when 2016 numbers are released next December.
