He famously played devil may care action-junky, James Bond, in the nineties and early naughties.
But Pierce Brosnan appeared to have been handed a license to chill, rather than thrill, as he eased himself into the sedate pace of life in Hawaii, on Monday.
The 62-year-old actor cut a relaxed figure in his all-white ensemble, as he reclined in the shade on one of the island's many golden beaches.
Sat languidly in a chair under a tropical gazebo, the former Bond star looked to be embracing the laid-back nature of the Pacific island - wearing headphones and reading an assortment of books.
Donning a white linen shirt, which he wore unbuttoned and with the sleeves rolled-up, the Irish actor flash a hint of his chest as he spent some time on the beach.
Slipping in a pair of matching white trousers, the No Escape star rounded his beach wardrobe off with a diamond checked slip-ons.
And in case the breeze picked up while he was out on the sands, the actor brought along a navy cardigan.
He accessorised his sunny look with a pair of black-framed shades and a understated watch.
Sporting a bushy white beard, the actor looked worlds away from his clean-shaven days as the suave, tuxedo-wearing Bond.
And while Pierce was seen enjoying some alone time on Hawaii, it appears that the actor has taken himself and some of his family away for a winter break.
Taking to his Instagram account, the actor posted an artistic photoshoped image which he attributed to his 14-year-old daughter, Paris.
Stood in his beach ensemble, the actors opaque image is superimposed over what appears to be the breath-taking view he was treated to from his seat on the beach.
Captioning the artistic snap, Pierce alluded to his relaxed mood, writing: 'In the clouds ...by @paris.brosnan.'
And in another post, the actor looked to be enjoying one of his favourite pastimes - a round of golf.
Posing on the fairway, with a mountain vista view in the background, the bearded star sported a cap, aviator-style shades, polo shirt and his trusty golf club.
Obviously celebrating a decent par, the Survivor actor snapped a selfie of himself smoking a cigar, and referenced the slogan on his cap to match his mood, writing: 'Make par not war ...2016.'
