Neymar rescued by Barcelona staff as car crash sees him almost miss flight ahead of must-win La Liga clash in Basque country

According to Catalan daily sport, Neymar suffered accident while driving his Ferrari to airport with club officials having to come and pick him up.
He was en route to the airport to meet up with the rest of his team-mates when he crashed his Ferrari Spider — and destroyed most of the left side of the car.
Despite the mental trauma of the accident, it has been reported that the 24-year-old is still ready to take to the pitch tonight.
It has been a difficult period for the former Santos ace with a potential two-year jail sentence looming over his head — and six-game goal drought.

ONDO DECIDES

Results have begun to trickle in from the various wards where voting have ended in the Governorship election in Ondo state. However, note that these are not the original result statement from INEC but a collation from various social media tweets of numerous election observers on ground at the polling units and wards in Ondo state.
INEC’s original statement is the final and sacrosanct result and we await it.
Meanwhile, below are the results as they trickle in.

SHOCKING!

It came as a shock this morning when one of the aspirants for the governorship race in Ondo State, Barrister Jimoh Ibrahim made a shocking statement that he deliberately entered into a legal battle with one of the aspirants, and apparently, the incumbent governor's choice in order to waste his time and forestall his chance of winning the election. Here is what he said in the video below.

Poem: Oh Africa!

Oh Africa!
How are thy mighty fallen?
The giant of Africa laid bare her secrets and
Like the wise king uttered all her heart.
Left her door ajar to all and sundry;
Little did she know that not all who called her friend
Were coming with good hearts.
Raped was she by strangers with frozen faces,
Left to die but not forgotten.
All who love her sing songs to eulogize her.
Her past glory can be awakened by sons and daughters Who throng round about her.
Africa my Africa, the giant of Africa,
Shall we sing heroic songs again?

THE SUPREME COURT DECIDES ON ALL ELECTIONS CASE OF ONDO POLLS

The Supreme Court on Thursday referred back to the Court of Appeal, Abuja, all pending cases relating to the dispute over the leadership tussle between the Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi factions of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The appeals which the apex court referred back to the Court of Appeal have to do with questions bordering on which of the factions of the party has the authority to instruct lawyers to represent the party in a pending case before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
The five-man panel of the apex court led by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onoghen, also, in a separate unanimous ruling, struck out all pending appeals relating to the candidacy of the PDP for the Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.
Justice Onnoghen, who read the lead ruling, held that the pending appeals before the apex court had become academic in view of the judgment of the Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led panel of the Court of Appeal, Abuja delivered on Wednesday, reinstating Eyitayo Jegede as the PDP’s governorship candidate in the Ondo State election.
The Acting CJN informed parties to the appeals on Thursday that the apex court was not ready to hear the cases piecemeal.
He directed that the appellants should raise the issues in their interlocutory appeals in, when they file substantive appeals which they wish to file against the Court of Appeal’s judgment delivered on Thursday.
The appellants led by Biyi Poroye are the state executives of the Sheriff faction of the party in the various states in the South-West zone, are backing Jimoh Ibrahim, who was only removed and replaced with Jegede as the party’s governorship candidate in Ondo State by the judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal, Abuja on Wednesday.
The appellants’ lawyer, Mr. Beluolisa Nwofor (SAN), told the apex court on Thursday that he had not been able to file an appeal against the Wednesday’s judgment of the Court of Appeal because copies of the judgment had not been ready.

German Doctor Convicted Of Shocking Misconduct - cocosista15.com

A German court has convicted a senior doctor of sexually assaulting and secretly filming almost a dozen female patients at a hospital in the Bavarian town of Bamberg.

Judges at Bamberg's regional court sentenced the 51-year-old to seven years and nine months in prison on Monday.

Prosecutors had sought a 15-year sentence for Dr. Heinz W., whose full name wasn't released because of German privacy laws.

Court spokesman Leander Broessler said the defendant was convicted of six counts of rape, five counts of sexual assault, 11 counts of grievous bodily harm for drugging the patients and one case of sexually abusing a defenseless person.

Broessler said W. took over 100 photos and five videos of his victims. The defendant denied the accusations and claimed he had been testing new treatment methods.

LETTER TO OUR WIVES FROM ‘THE COMMITTEE OF HUSBANDS’ - cocosista15.com

I saw this on whatsapp and thought I should share, enjoy.

30 Things Nigerian Husbands Want And Expect From Our Wives.
1. Go and slim down. Do not let people take you for our mother when indeed you are our wife. We love to see you exercise and eat less.
2. Mind and control your tongue.
3. Keep the house clean.
4. Be hospitable, how you receive our friends and families matter to us. Make them feel welcome by coming out to greet them, serve them water if there is no drink.
5. Dress neatly and smart always, look good for us.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s Address - cocosista15.com

TEXT OF A WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY THE MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND CULTURE, ALHAJI LAI MOHAMMED, ON THE RELEASE OF 21
CHIBOK GIRLS, ON THURSDAY, OCT. 13TH 2016, AT THE OBASANJO HALL,
FEDERAL SECRETARIAT, ABUJA.
Gentlemen of the press, good afternoon. We have called this press conference at a very short notice to brief you on the latest development in the saga of our Chibok Girls.
2.   We can confirm that 21 of the girls were released, safely, to us by 5.30 this Thursday morning and they were flown to Kaduna from the location of their release. This is the most glaring manifestation to date of the unwavering commitment of Mr. President to secure the safe release of the girls and reunite them with their families. It is also a result of the round-the-clock efforts by the Administration to put a closure to the sad issue of the kidnap of the girls.
3.   We expect the released girls to land in Abuja shortly. Ahead of their arrival,
we have assembled a team of medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, trauma experts, etc to properly examine the girls, especially because they have been in captivity for so long. They will also be adequately debriefed. We have the list of the 21 girls but we are now contacting their parents as part of the necessary verification exercise.
As soon as that is concluded, we will release the names to the public.
4.   Gentlemen, as we have always said, we have been working on the safe release of the girls and following all the leads available. In this instance, the moment we had a credible lead, Mr President gave the green-light to the DSS to pursue it. We can confirm that the DSS pursued the lead in collaboration with a friendly European country and a renowned international humanitarian organization.
The DSS was supported by the military.
5.   As soon as the necessary confidence was built on both sides, the parties agreed on the date and the location of the release of the 21 girls. Please note that this is not a swap. It is a release, the product of painstaking negotiations and trust on both
sides.
6.   We see this as a credible first step in the eventual release of all the Chibok Girls in captivity. It is also a major step in confidence-building between us as a government and the Boko Haram leadership on the issue of the Chibok Girls.
7.   We want to thank all Nigerians for their support and for never losing confidence in the ability of Mr.President to secure the safe release of our Chibok Girls.
8.   Gentlemen of the press, I thank you all for your kind attention
Segun Adeyemi
SA to Hon Minister of Information and Culture
